Sweet Little Burlap Journal

Sweet Little Burlap Journal

Can you believe January is almost over!!!  All I did was blink and poof, it was gone. lol

I have a little project I worked on last year that I never shared with you guys.  I have some rolls of burlap that I really love and I thought I would use some of it to create a little journal. Inside the journal I used up some 12 x 12  scrapbook paper I have had for a while. I just cut the 12 x 12 paper in half making them 12 x 6 pieces.  On the outside I used a lot of left over fibers I had in my stash as well as fabric, trim and lace scraps.  I used an old button and a piece of twine for the closure and the twine wraps around the journal giving it room to grow a little bit.   The tag on the front of the journal is a tag I used to wipe off excess paint from another project.  I left it in that ‘unfinished’ state and just glued it to the front of the journal. I really like how that looks.  I also added a smaller bit of lace scrap and a button to the tag.  I think it’s really cute and I love all of the texture and color it has.  It’s amazing what you can do with your scraps and leftover papers.  Give it a try.

See you soon,

Laurie

    1. Thank you Cathy. 🙂 I think I enjoy using up scraps and odd stuff more than full pieces of paper or new items. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

  3. I love that journal! I really really miss your videos , please make this journal a video DIY. I miss your comments and techniques.. watching reruns till then lol.

    1. Thank you Donna. That’s so sweet of you. 🙂 I appreciate you watching reruns until I post again. That’s such a cute way to look at it. lol I’ll think about a DIY for the journal. Honestly, I made it on the fly using what was on my desk and I’m not sure I even remember every step but I think I can get close. It may be a while but I’ll try. 🙂
