Dried Flowers Canvas

Dried Flowers On Canvas

This is the last project where I was able to use some of the beautiful flowers I dried from a mother’s day bouquet from my family. I wanted to use the loose petals that fell from one of the flowers so I added them to the bottom of the canvas as if they came off the single flower on the side of the canvas.  I loved the scrapbook paper I had in my scrap bin so I made a flower-pot to use the other dried flower spray I had left.  I used old book text to make the leaves and I used  old music paper at the top and bottom just because I liked it.  There is a thin umber brown glaze coating on top of the canvas to give it a bit of an aged look.  There is a video showing the process of how I made the canvas. I hope you enjoy.

Coffee Bag Tags

Coffee Bag Tag

Coffee anyone?  Smells sooooo good even after it’s gone. lol  As I was making this Coffee Bag Tag the smell of coffee was wafting through the air especially when I used my heat gun to do some drying. So you can imagine that I was wanting coffee quite often through the process but I managed to wait until “coffee time” to have some. However, I did not wait to create this tag. It was a lot of fun and I have plans to make more and possibly turn them into a Coffee Bag Tag Book.  Yes, I think I might just do that. 🙂

Colorful Tags Using Dried Flowers From Mothers Day

Dried Flower Tags

For Mothers Day I received a beautiful flower arrangement from my son, daughter-n-law and two sweet grandchildren. I hated to see them start dying so I decided to dry a few of the flowers and make something with them so I would have the memory of them as long as they lasted.  They should last for a long time too.  So, I made a paper bag journal and used some of the flowers. Then, I made some tags using almost the rest of them. I set a couple aside to use on a canvas.  I love how the tags came out. They are so sweet and so cute.  And they are fun to make.

Index Art Card Bag Book

Index Card Bag Journals

Not long ago I made some little journals from paper bags and called them “Rag Tag Bag’s”. I made these journals from bags that are smaller than the ones you see in the photos on this blog post.  I had said that I would be using the larger bags to create index card journals as they are the perfect size for the larger index cards.  So that is what I did and you can see the photos below as well as a link to the video showing you the process of how I made one of them.  I loved making these bag journals. They are so fun and easy to make and you can make them in any style you like.  Referencing the photo above, I made the journal on the left using Tim Holtz Apothecary Bottles die. I chose this die because I wanted to use some flowers I had dried that were given to me for Mothers Day and I thought they would look cute with the die.  The second journal in the photo is an art card journal.  There are six index cards all made with scrapbook paper, scraps, drop paper and Gelatos.  This is the one I created on video.  I plan to make more journals using paper bags, at least until I am sick of paper bags. lol
