Day 7 – 10 of 100 Days Of Journaling With Happy Mail

I am so glad I chose to do something simple and fast as well as something I have wanted to do for a long time because it makes it so much easier to stick with it.  I am not sure my journal is going to hold up though. It’s already feeling rather full and it’s still rather early in the project.  We’ll see. 🙂

Talk to you soon,

Laurie

The 100 Day Project – 100 Days Of Journaling With Happy Mail

The 100 Day Project started on April 3, 2018.  I have never done a project like this before so I thought I would give it a try. I wanted to make this project simple enough that I could sustain doing it for 100 days and not feel overwhelmed by it so I decided on journaling with happy mail. I am using a small Dylusions journal by Ranger and happy mail that I received several years ago for a birthday giveaway I had on my YouTube channel.  I have wanted to use this happy mail in a project for a long time and I think The 100 Day Project is perfect for it.  The photos below are Day 1 and Day 2. I am filming the process so there will be some videos.  The first video is up and you can see the link below. I am also posting photos on Instagram and that link will be below also.

See you again soon,

Laurie

Bird’s-Eye – A Large Tag

Bird’s-Eye – A Large Tag

Happy February. 🙂  Here is another one of those projects I worked on a few months ago where I used a lot of my paper scraps and fibers from other projects.  First, I covered a 5 1/4 x 10 1/2 inch tag by Ranger with scrapbook paper. Then, I gathered up some fabric, fiber and paper scraps and a few odd die cuts I had on my desk and started layering.  When I was happy with how the tag looked I cut the word “Bird’s-Eye” from my dictionary and added it where the eye of the bird would go. I also cut out the definition of the word “Birds-Eye” and glued it above the bird.  At the bottom I used two metal embellishments I had on my desk too.  It was simple and fast to make and it helped me use up some more of my scraps.  Creating can be fun, fast and easy. I encourage you to use simple pieces at your fingertips and create a cute, funky tag or journal page with them.

Until next time,

Laurie 🙂

Rudolph Says “Happy New Year”

Rudolph Bows

Happy New Year everyone.   While I have not been able to create a video for a while I did do a few things off camera when I could. One of the things I made was Rudolph Bows. I saw a video by Maymay Made It where she showed how to make them and I thought they were so cute I wanted to make them for the grandchildren’s packages.  I wrapped their gifts in brown craft paper because the dark brown bows looked really cute on the lighter brown paper. These are super cute, really easy to make and you can make bows for any occasion using this technique.  If you would like to see the video by Maymay Made It, so you can save this idea for next year or make some bows for your next gift,  just click on her channel name and the link will take you there.

I hope you all have a wonderful 2018 and I look forward to another year of creating and sharing with you.

Until next time,

Laurie

Junk Your Stuff – Tags Using Packaging Part 2

“Junk Your Stuff” – Tags From Packaging Part 2

The “Junk Your Stuff” series continues with Part 2 of creating tags from packaging.  I took a few things I had in my stash and focused on using  just those things.   I like how they came out and I’m ready to push on and create round 3 of the tags using packaging. I hope you are creating some too.

Junk Your Stuff – Tags From Packaging

Here we go again…Junking Our Stuff. lol While creating the “Junk Your Stuff” Paper Bag Journals I used up a lot of product but I also wound up with a boat load of packaging. I started cutting the packaging into tag shapes of various sizes and started making tags using more of my stash. This first group of tags was a lot of fun to make but I have a lot of tags to make and a lot of stash to use so there will be a several parts to this series.  I hope you enjoy and get some ideas. Thank you for watching. 🙂

Dried Flowers Canvas

Dried Flowers On Canvas

This is the last project where I was able to use some of the beautiful flowers I dried from a mother’s day bouquet from my family. I wanted to use the loose petals that fell from one of the flowers so I added them to the bottom of the canvas as if they came off the single flower on the side of the canvas.  I loved the scrapbook paper I had in my scrap bin so I made a flower-pot to use the other dried flower spray I had left.  I used old book text to make the leaves and I used  old music paper at the top and bottom just because I liked it.  There is a thin umber brown glaze coating on top of the canvas to give it a bit of an aged look.  There is a video showing the process of how I made the canvas. I hope you enjoy.

Creating Pages In My “Junk Your Stuff” Junk Journals From Paper Bags

My Personal Junk Your Stuff Journals

I decided to create a Part III video to the “Junk Your Stuff” Junk Journal From Paper Bags project. I wanted you to see how I work in my journal and hopefully give you some ideas and inspiration for working in yours journals.  I also mentioned in one of my videos how the “Pockets and Posies” pockets would look great in these journals.  I made one and love it. There will be photos of it below.  Here are some photos of the pages I created in my junk journal as well as a link to the video showing you how I created it. I hope you feel inspired.
